The Expert Team on Operational Weather Radar (ET-OWR) is tasked with supporting the implementation of the WIGOS framework and the WMO Strategic Plan (2024-2027). Under the governance of SC-MINT and in collaboration with SC-ON and SC-IMT, ET-OWR will act as the primary working group on operational weather radars.  the key activities that ET-OWR participates in include the following:

• Developing and maintaining guidance materials, best practices, standards, and specifications related to operational weather radars. 
• Contribute to the development of methods for the international exchange and archiving of weather radar data, provide governance of the WMO Weather Radar Database, and review emerging weather radar technologies. 
• Additionally, they advise and guidance on observing system design, radio-frequency allocation, and training, and collaborate with international organizations.
• Promote and share their activities and outputs with the international radar community.
